VFX

Motion design and VFX (visual effects) are key disciplines in digital media production that combine movement, graphics and visual illusion. Motion design involves the animation of graphic elements such as typography, logos or illustrations to convey information clearly and in an emotionally engaging way – for example in adverts, explainer videos or brand presentations. VFX, on the other hand, aims to enhance or alter real-life filmed scenes using digital effects, for example through simulations, compositing or digital environments in film and television. The two fields are increasingly overlapping and are often used in conjunction to create visually striking and narratively powerful content.

Event Visuals

Projection mapping and event visuals are specialised fields within visual media design in which architecture, spaces or objects are transformed into dynamic projection surfaces. In projection mapping, images and animations are precisely adapted to irregular surfaces such as buildings, stages or sculptures, creating impressive illusions and spatial effects. Event visuals encompass the entire visual design of live events, such as concerts, trade fairs or corporate events, and combine lighting, video and animation to create a cohesive overall experience. Together, both disciplines create immersive environments that emotionally enhance content, showcase brands and directly engage the audience in the visual experience.

3D visualisation

Technical 3D visualisation refers to the digital representation of products, processes or systems. It is primarily used in industry, architecture, mechanical engineering and product development to make complex concepts easier to understand. With the help of 3D models, designs can be checked before production, variants compared, or functionalities clearly explained. Typical applications include product animations, exploded views, sectional views and virtual prototypes. In addition to mere representation, simulation also plays an important role, for example in relation to material behaviour or motion sequences. As a result, technical 3D visualisation supports planning, communication and marketing in equal measure and reduces development risks and costs in the early stages of a project.
